Do not rush it Dario

This is my not that humble analysis
Today’s analysis focuses on one of the Copa Catalana semi-finals between Lleida and Calafell. Calafell won the game 5-8, securing their spot in the final. The Copa Catalana is a pre-season competition involving all Catalan teams playing in the upcoming Ok Liga season.

Sides
Lleida is focusing their play on one side, watch closely how they bring attention towards the side they want. In the opening moments of the clip, we see Nico Ojeda (Lleida Nº55) creating space by using his own floor and drawing attention to the weak side. How does he do it? By dragging his defender along with him, clearing the weak side and decongesting the area around 9.

Blocking
A useful technique, right? Fran Torres (Lleida Nº44) skates along the wall with the ball as Sergi Duch (Lleida Nº22) provides a block and roll. At the same time, Dario Gimenez (Lleida Nº6) moves into position at 7, on the same side. Is this a mistake? As discussed previously, Duch cuts in with difficulty. In the last World Championships, referees were quite lenient in defining what constitutes a foul when defending a cut-in after a block (or the roll action on a block and roll).
