My Not-So-Humble Analysis

Sides | Make It Wide

As always, we begin by setting up the sides. There are countless reasons why this tactic works. Jepi Selva (Calafell Nº29) is in possession of the ball, with two teammates widening the play to form a triangle. One player positions himself completely on the opposite side, near the wall, while the other holds at 0, near the direct point.

Sides | Make It Deep

The fourth Calafell player stands at 7, creating depth. As Jepi begins to skate toward 3, he sends a pass to Joaquín Olmos (Calafell Nº77), pushing the play deeper. Although Olmos has no immediate opportunity to advance, the defence is forced to compress toward 9, executing what’s known as the “accordion tactic.”
