When laziness is expensive

A really interesting game from the WSE cup. European comp. This one was in between Caldes and Noia. To be honest, Caldes surprised me. In a good way not just because they win the game. I got really good vibes from them. I may have a closer look at them.

This is a really common situation. We start at a shot from the side. But first look at the attack configuration. It is a 3 on 3 situation. The shot comes from the side and misses. It will be a funny analysis if it ended here right? I'm not that kind of guy. After the shot, Humberto Mender (Caldes Nº8 ) gets the rebound at 7.

Look at the defence. Xavi Costa (Noia Nº 6) comes down to help. As far as I can see he is just rolling. Not doing anything actually. What happens after this is that now there is one player from Caldes free from a defender with a clear pass line. The 4th defender comes to occupy Costa's position in a hurry. Which means that there is still one attacker free from the defender. And two clear pass lines for Mendes.
