Too much, back up mate
Officially, a new season has started. There have been some preseason tournaments at Club level of course. Well I don't forget WSG. I'm excited to see what the teams will offer.

We are going to see one of my favourites. The clip starts with Sergi Llorca (Barça N55) skating towards his goalcage. He is skating next to the wall and he has one defender chasing him close. I want to highlight one thing just in here, look at 9. 9 is fully empty. This is a common scenario when the defenders are pushing 20 meters.
Llorca passes to Ignacio Alabart (Barça N3) and puts a block on him. Check the defenders moves. While Llorca is skating, even before the pass. I can see a Liceo player, the one at the weak side, rolling towards the ball. Alabart, even before he catches this. So as soon as he controls the ball he moves the ball to the weak side. Sergi Aragones (Barça N55) is the one.
Alabart faces Aragones, skating a bit towards him. Aragones’ defender is getting closer to Alabart, which means further from Aragones. When Aragones sees Alabart skating towards, he starts skating down the wall. Alabart does not pass to the stick, Alabart passes to the space where he knows Aragones will be. When Aragones gets the ball he has an advantage over the defender of 5 metres at least.
Marc Grau (Barça N28) is at the same side as Aragones but on 4. If you stop the clip here, Alabart and Llorca are at the opposite side skating out, doing balance and opening the space (two things on the same move). Grau has two options here, he can “block” Aragones’ defender or he can cut to the second post.
Now think because I know most of my readers and I know 90% of them will do the block. Why would you block Aragones if he already has tons of advantage over the defender? The defender fucked it up before. Grau, as a smart player he is, cuts to the second post. This forces the defender to decide, following Grau or help to defend Aragones. This is from Grau’s point of view.
